Maybelline BB Cream

I'm sure many of you have heard about this famous cream. For those of you who haven't, BB in BB cream stands for blemish balm. It's kind of like a tinted moisturizer, but it's used for covering your blemishes, making your skin looks flawless and perfect.

I first heard about BB cream last December. My friend told me that this little thing is booming in Asia. It's the reason of why Korean actresses have flawless skin. Little did I realize that BB cream is also booming in the US.

I was not sure about it, so I didn't want to spend for a product that I haven't really known for sure. I've seen brands like Too Faced and Benefit launched their BB creams several months back. They were pricey for sure. When my friend went back to Indonesia, I asked my mom to buy me Maybelline's BB cream. It claims to be "8-in-1 Skin Transformer: Brightens, Evens, Smoothes, Refines, Clears, Conceals, Moisturizes, Protects skin". It has SPF 26. Self-rated as PA+++. (The more '+' it has, the more UVA protection it provides).

I tried it, and I must say that I like it. It gives you little to medium coverage, but it really smoothes out your skin and disguises your blemishes.

My shade is 01 Fresh. The swatch looks too light for my skin as you can see here, but once I blend it out my skin it just flawlessly blends with my skin tone. My skin looks smoother and more flawless.

It won't cover up pimples or dark circles or anything like that, but it does help to make them less visible and smoothes the surface of your skin.

Have you tried any BB cream? What do you think of it?

MyGlam Bag ✦ February 2012 - Fail

I finally got myglam bag today. It's only been my second month subscribing to MyGlam, and I'm already disappointed with it.

First, I got an email that the last glam bag would be shipped on February 14th. Until February 17th, I didn't get any shipping confirmation, and when I did it was already 2 days later. I tried to contact the customer service by email but they didn't really help.

I opened the package today, and I am totally disappointed in what I found inside. I know I had already known what they were through some videos on youtube, but it didn't really occur to me how lame the stuff is until now.

Basically, this month's glam bag contains:
NuMe $100 Gift Certificate
X Out Shine Control
NYX Roll On Shimmer
Premier Dead Sea Cinderella Mask (2 small sample-size products)
Freeman Facial Mask Sachet
Ghirardelli Chocolate

There's only one makeup item, and the rest of the beauty items are, how I put this, disappointing. I'm not saying that they are bad products because I haven't even tried them out yet, but considering it's Valentine's month, what would be more makeup-y that Valentine's day? The way that they put these products altogether is just bad. $100 gift certificate for hair styling tools is just worth nothing to me since I already have a couple, and I love them. I wouldn't spend on so much for something I already have and love. I checked online, and the products cost around $150.

The only thing that I like from this month's glam bag is the bag itself. It's pink, and it's cute.

Anyway, I'm gonna stick around with the subscription for at least 2 more months hoping it'll get better.

What do you guys think about this month's glam bag?

Jibber Jabber:
  • I just got back from a 4-day conference. What an amazing weekend!
  • I have a really weak stamina lately. I get tired all the time.
  • I need to exercise!

Naked Palette: Golden Bronze Eyes

Hey everyone! It's been a crazy week with exams and papers, but I'm so glad that I get to blog again =)
I've been having trouble sleeping, so I get tired everyday. I tried chamomile tea like my friends suggested, but it did nothing to me. Hopefully, after all the tasks are behing, I can sleep better tonight.

No matter how busy I am, there's always time to do some makeup! As I said, makeup is my day-to-day boost of happiness. And it really takes stress away from me for a little while. So today's look is about golden bronze eyes. The look is good for every skin tone because it's natural and nothing dramatic like that. It's perfect for everyday look with a hint of sparkle. Do you know that the Urban Decay Naked palette is not only for 'naked' look? =P
