LOTD: Demi Falsies and theBalm 'Nude Tude Palette

Playing with my new 'Nude tude palette from theBalm. I love the color variation. The shadows are pigmented and not chalky at all. Love!

After I tried my first smokey neutral eyes with this palette, I decided to throw in false lashes as well to amp up the look a little bit. I cut my hollywood glam false eyelashes by e.l.f into two and created demi lashes. Notice the difference before and after the false lashes.

Beauty Haul - 8/27/2012

Hey everyone! I can finally take a break and blog again. Yay! I was caught up with interviews, 4 in one week! So it was pretty crazy. I hope to hear the news by this week, so yeah. Wait and see.
While waiting, let's just talk beauty again. I've done several shopping trips just to ease my mind a little bit, and I'm really happy with what I've got.

tokidoki is being discotinued really soon. How sad. The brand has been working together with Sephora for about two years now, and they're now being discontinued. I know tokidoki for its unique and adorable printed packaging. I've never tried any of the makeup products before. They were discounted up to 60%, and I knew they were up for grabs.

The pigmentation of this eyeshadow is great. This shade is a bronze-y tannish pearlish color. Haha. It's creamy and not chalky at all.

When I saw this adorable brush set was also on sale, I didn't think twice. The bristle is really soft, and they're good quality. Cute, ei?

Another good find from tokidoki. It's basically a tinted lip balm, but it should last longer than usual tinted lip balms.
Gelato Lip Balm Stain in Pink Martini

As you may know by now, I'm kinda a lipstick fanatic. Not really, but kind of. The neutral ones I got because of pixi2woo. Her Kim Kadarshian makeup tutorial is gorgeus, by the way. She is gorgeous =).
top to bottom:
Rimmel Moisture Renew Lipstick - Nude Delight
MAC Lustre Lipstick - Jubilee
Sephora Rouge Shine - Just Married

I'm a sucker for neutral makeup, and these gorgeous shades are must-haves. They're inexpesive and the pigmentation is great. I've heard great things of the particular "Walking of Eggshells" trio by Wet 'N Wild, and I never got it because I think I got everything I needed from the Naked palette. But they're just great shadows and I had coupon!
Maybelline just launched 8 additional shades to its Color Tattoo cream shadow collection, but they're limited edition. I'm finally able to grab one called Barely Beige after visiting 4 different stores. I love this particular cream shadow because the lasting power is amazing. I swatched it on the back of my hand, and when I went wash my hands, the color just didn't budge. It's amazing. It's a great base for powder shadow too.

Wet N Wild Trio - Walking on Eggshells (bottom)
This is the thing that I'm most excited about. I got this from Amazon, it was cheaper by $5 or so compared to getting it from theBalm website or dermstore.com. This palette offers a different color variation of neutrals. Love love love!
theBalm Nude 'tude Eyeshadow Palette

I've heard great things about the lashblast mascara, and since my tarte mascara is about to be out of job after 6 months, I'm now about to try it myself. I picked up this limited edition packaging to support the olympic.
The maybelline one is good for lower lashes because the brush is so tiny that it can get each of your lower lashes perfectly. At least that's what I've heard. I obviously haven't opened and tried it myself.
CoverGirl lash blash volume mascara
Maybelline Lash Discovery waterproof mascara- very black
I love this velcro rollers because they grab my hairs and have built-in clips to just hold my hair from falling down my face, especially my bangs. I now use this all the time when I'm at home to keep my bangs look nice and sided =P
Vidal Sassoon Self-Holding Sure Grip Rollers

I got this pearl bracelet from Forever 21. Forever 21 makes inexpensive jewelries without looking cheap. Well, some of them do look cheap, but you mostly they are amazingly goo quality.
I think this bracelet is perfect for formal occasion like a wedding.

LOTD: Hair and makeup to a Wedding

It's wedding season!
Several of my friends are getting married, some already have. I guess summer is a great season to get married because you can throw a beautiful reception out in the garden or in the beach. But of course, if you have a beach wedding to attend to, you can't have your favorite heels to complete your outfit.
Anyway, I just want to show you a very neutral look to a wedding.
I have a coral dress on, some peach blush and bronze for eye makeup. I should put more shadows on my lids because you can't really see it in the picture, can you? The basic idea is not to go over the top when it comes to the wedding. You don't want to steal the thunder from the bride (and the groom of course since it's their day, not only 'her' day even though many think so and many brides feel so).
This look is perfect for people who are just trying out makeup or don't like a lot of makeup on their face but want to add a little bit of glam.

This updo is really easy to get. Just watch Daven Mayeda's video, and you can recreate it yourself. I can't have the wavy side bangs like the model in the video because my hair is too long and my bang is too short for that. So, I tucked in a chunk of fair to the bun with a bobby pin and voila. I must say highlights would give this updo a little more dimension and definition, but this works too.

And for my nails, I think sparkly nails can add a little pop in this simple look.

>sally hansen gem crush - big money

LOTD: Maroon Eyes, Messy Bun, Floral Outfit

Hey everyone!
Today I wanted to do something a little bit different that usual. I incorporated the shimmery white mineral eyeshadow I got from this month's glam bag and maroon shade from the CoverGirl Eyeshadow Quad in Drama Eyes.
And since the outfit is so busy with floral prints, I keep the makeup minimal .

I also used a couple of beauty items that hold really important role in today's look. I got both a couple years back, and I hated them before. It's sort of like a rediscover for me.

The Body Shop Stick Concealer in 03 --> amazing coverage! I didn't use foundation and it seems that this stuff gives coverage I need to conceal sun spots and acne scars.

Skin Food Apple Can Multi Blusher --> Love this blush. The color is buildable, and it gives you just the perfect amount of blush you want just by tapping the puffy puff provided. (love that - puffy puff =P ) It smells amazing and the packaging is so cute!
All the products I used except for the mineral eyeshadow and my lip products. I forgot to include them in the picture. Oops!
  From left to right:

> The Face Shop Pencil Eyeliner in black
> The Body Shop Concealer Stick in 03
> Skin Food Apple Can Multi Blusher
> e.l.f eyelash curler
> ecotools powder brush
> Physicians' Formula Happy Booster Powder

Messy bun is so in right now, for some reason. Maybe it's because of the hot weather or maybe it's because people are getting lazy to style their hair. Either way, messy bun can look cute when you purposely make it messy and style it however you like.

kisses!

MyGlam Bag ✦August 2012

I just got MyGlam bag in the mail today. I think I skipped a month and didn't post MyGlam bag in July. The theme is pretty similar, summer-y products. I love how the card in this month's bag features Michelle Phan's drawing. She is truly an artist! For those who don't know who Michelle Phan is, she is the most subscribed beauty guru on Youtube. She also founded Fawn, Inc. and MyGlam.com. She also one of Lancome spokesperson/makeup artist. In such a young age, she is really successful doing what she loves.

Dream, Believe & Make it happen!

What's inside this month's glam bag:

♥ Circus Nail polish in Spectacle
This nail polish will launch in the Fall. It's not for sale yet, but I already got 2 different shades from the MyGlam subscription. This is nail polish by one of the youtube beauty guru who also works together with Michelle Phan. You can check her out at Andrea's Choice.

♥ eclos Cellular Activator Facial Serum
♥ eclos Moisture Therapy Regenerative Cream

I've never heard of this brand before. They use plant stem cells extract from a rare Swiss apple that is believed to have tremendous ability to stimulate skin stem cell, encouraging aging skin to behave like younger skin.

♥Demeter Roll-on perfume oil in dragon fruit
♥Salty Cosmetics Mineral Eyeshadow in Glama-Zoid

Again, I've never heard of these two brands before. But I guess that's the idea of this monthly subscription which allows us to try new things including brands that we didn't even know existed. The perfume smells nice. As for the mineral eyeshadow, I must say the packaging makes the product look cheap. It's a loose mineral which is blended by hand, said the website.  The color I got is a shimmery white shade, which might be good for highlight or a little pop of glam.

♥MyGlam Glam Gloss

This one is an added bonus.
I got a card which says that the MyGlam team gives this glam gloss as a thank you. It's pretty cool.

Thank you for reading!
Don't forget to subscribe and make my day =)

Eventful July

It's been a very eventful month for me. So many exciting things happening.
First, one of my friends finally got married after more than 5 years together.
I was so excited and happy for them.
Too bad I couldn't be there to celebrate with them because the wedding was in Jakarta.

I notice that 'tis the season for weddings! I have been watching Down the Aisle with Chriselle on her youtube channel (Check out her latest episode here). She covers from the wedding preps to the prewed photo shoots to the shopping for bridesmaids'e dresses and the wedding dress. It makes me start imagine of how mine would be like. A girl gotta dream what a a girl gotta dream! =P

Chriselle with her fiance - thechrisellefactor.com

My friend, Mary Jo, who is also the mother of Verity from my last blog post, just gave birth to her second child! It was happening so fast. She gave birth at around 9 am on July 31. Just the night before, we had the last hoorah before the baby came by watching Batman: The Dark Knight Rises at the movie. I waited to watch this movie because she told me that once her parents came, she could go to the movie and had them take care of her daughter at home. She and her husband hadn't gone to the movie for more than 2 years. Wow! I am really happy for them, and may God bless their new chapter in life and other upcoming chapters that are yet to come.
Congratulations Mama and Baby Z!

Yay to floppy hat! =D

Learned to make these wrap bracelets. They're not perfect, but they're cute!

Finally, we watched Brave last Saturday. It was surprisingly a really short movie for me. It wasn't as good as I expected it to be, but the details of each scene blew me away as Pixar always does.

Love this bow necklace from Forever 21. They also have it in mint and pink. I picked the black one because I think it's more versatile, even though I really wanted to have the pink one.

Just a little manicure trick I learned.
Painted a glittery polish only to the tips of your nails.
It looks like you just dip your nails in glitter. Cute!

My baby hit 40k miles!

I've been swimming and my skin get tanner and tanner. I think it looks more healthy and glowy =)
I'm still in the market for job opportunity. Let's hope for the best.
I have also been watching Agnes Monica a lot on youtube. I watch her success and fame. She is such a great role model. Dream, believe, and make it happen!

How was your July like?
