Travel: OOTD in Washington, D.C.

Fall in east coast is like winter in west coast. When I first landed in Washington, I felt like I was freezing. My body adjusted after a few days. With my thermal, boots, gloves and a warm jacket, I am good to go. 

My boots kept me warm and cozy throughout the long and cold walk in DC.

Black Friday Beauty Deals/Shopping Tips! (2012)

Hi everyone! 

Thanksgiving is just 2 days away, and if you are like me, you'd be excited as I am to hunt for great deals.

This is my first time really to want to participate in the hype of Thanksgiving shopping. I guess it's partly because I might not be in the U.S. next year so I want to do it just for the sake of experience and of course, great deals. 

I notice that many stores don't post their Black Friday Deals on their website, so you might have to work extra to find their deals. I find one of the best ways to find deals is through their Facebook pages. I'm not really an expert in marketing, but posting deals 'exclusively' for their Facebook fans or other social media followers will encourage people to support their pages and hence more brand awareness.

Make sure to also sign up for their email subscription to be updated on special sale.

Another shopping tips I got from my friend Vero from hengkyvero.blogspot.com  to use Ebates when you shop online. You'll get paid to shop! Or at least that's what they tell you, for me it's just an extra discount =)

LOTD: Purple Shadows and Winged Eyeliner

Hello everyone! I hope you all are having a great week so far. It's almost weekend, so hang in there!
Thanksgiving is next week. Can you believe it? It's way way to soon.                                                                                                                                

I don't have special plan for thanksgiving. At least not yet. For now, I am just looking forward for the Black Friday even though I never really shop during the crazy sale, but I just like participating in the shopping madness by hanging out or something like that.

Currently watching The X Factor while writing this post. The singers are crazy good! I can't decide who's my favorite.

Anyway, today I have an LOTD for you guys. I was feeling a little groomed up today, so I thought to do a simple look which turned out to be quite a heavy makeup. I put way too much bronzer. It wouldn't be my typical day-to-day look, but I love bronzer so much that it is hard for me not to use it 'generously'. 

Rimmel Glam'Eyes Quad - Smokey Purple

Liner: 

I am not yet an expert in winging my eyeliner, so when I do so, I use a matte black eyeshadow with an angled brush instead of using a liquid eyeliner directly. Black  eyeshadow is easier to work with and using angled brush helps for shaky hand like mine. Here I am using the black shade from theBalm 'Nude Tude Palette and I topped it off with Maybelline Master Drama in Jet Black

Travel: National Air and Space Museum, Washington D.C.

Hey people. When I visited Washington, D.C. I went to the National Air and Space Museum. Personally, I didn't find airplanes fascinating, but I did find some interesting stuff.

Did you know that Transformer: Revenge of the Fallen was shot in this location? And did you know that female astronauts also use makeup in space?! Haha, I know it sounds silly, but I just find it interesting that they have time to groom in space. Lol.

Have Faith

Hi everyone. It's been quite a while since my last post. I'm just back from a one week vacation, yet I feel exhausted and stressed. I had the most amazing weekend, and that makes it more difficult for me to leave the country once the certainty hits me. Two months until I have to go back to my hometown. On one hand I feel like it is the right thing to do. I feel like it is time to stop being desperate and actually start my career. It is time for a new beginning. But on the other hand it is hard for me to leave the people I have become really close with and the place where I have grown to be a more mature and independent person for the last 4 years.

I feel tired of coming through rejection after rejection in my job hunting. Being unemployed is not fun nor is doing a job without getting paid. My friend tweeted me that my rejection is my direction. It is a really powerful revelation for me even though I can't help but feeling sad every time I think of what might or might not happen.

I just want to share with you guys who might be in the same situation as I am or maybe in a more difficult situation. Don't give up. The best is yet to come. It is okay to feel sad. It is okay to feel down. But you just gotta remember to pick yourself up because nobody else can. And most importantly, have faith. When all things fail, faith is all you've got and the closest thing you have to keep you sane.

October Favorites (2012)

Hi everyone! I can't believe October has passed already. It's time my October favorites, basically all my favorites during the month of October.

Urban Decay Naked Foundation

I've written a whole blog post on this product. It's weightless. It's amazing. The finish is not just straight matte. It gives you a velvety dewy finish which I love. 

Revlon ColorStay Whipped Foundation

The formulation is so thick that I don't really need concealer when I use it. The coverage is just flawless. It's perfect especially when you have to be in front of HD cameras. 

It's easy to blend, too. 

Sigma E25 Brush

I love this brush which is supposed to be very similar with MAC 217. The MAC 217 brush is so popular yet so expensive. I was so happy that I Sigma has one. The bristle is tapered which is perfect to apply shadows all over the lids and crease, yet it's fluffy enough to perform some blending. Two of my friends agree, and they bought it after using mine. 

theBalm 'Nude Tude Palette

I love how this nude palette doesn't just offer one variety brown color like the Urban Decay Naked palette does. It has matte colors as well as shimmery colors. It also provides a nice range of colors from shimmery peach to matte plum. I can create so many different looks using this palette. The shadows are pigmented and they don't flake off which is a major thing for me. 

Revlon Lip Butter - Peach Parfait
Rimmel Moisture Renew Lipstick - Nude Delight

I've been using these two color interchangeably. I love how versatile Peach Parfait is. It's just the perfect pinkish color. Rimmel Nude Delight is not just a basic nude. It has a hint of coral in there that makes it really pretty. They are great for cooler weather like now because they don't only give your lips colors but also moisture.

Bath & Body Works - Country Chic

I must admit it was love at first sight when I saw the packaging. Sky blue with colorful flowers. The scents are really refreshing. I think it was originally for the spring collection, but I still use them.

OPI Dulce de Leche

First saw this color on instagram, and I immediately fell in love. Everytime I use this color on my nails, I feel like a lady. Haha, i don't know why.

Oishi 

I have been addicted with thing for the whole month.
It's a must try! Try finding it at your asian grocery store.
