Beauty Review: em by Michelle Phan

Guess what? I finally got my hands on the EM products, a new makeup line by Michelle Phan. First of all, kudos to Michelle Phan for making it so far. I'm just so inspired having listened to her success story.
I gotta admit I had my doubts whenI first heard about her launching a makeup line. I thought it would be another gimmicky products that's not gonna worth the hype. When it launched, I browsed online for reviews and it does have  its pros and cons. Being a beauty enthusiast that I am, I  decided to give it a try and see  it for myself.

I took advantage of the deals they have, of course. They're currently offering a lipstick, waterliner and the life palette deluxe sample-size for $27.50. I also got the great cover-up concealer which I was really excited to try out after hearing such great reviews about it.

pardon the messy application, i was looking at my viewfinder =p

The matte lipstick is surprisingly smooth. I never thought red lipstick suits me, but I took a chance anyway ( I blame it on the holiday season and Taylor Swift). The key is to find the right shade of red is to know your skin tone - warm, cool, neutral. If the veins on your wrist appears more blue, than you're warm. if it's green than you're warm. If you can't tell, then you're neutral. At least, that's what I've heard. I say you can't really decide if it suits you until you put it on. I personally think this shade looks not bad on me, but my boyfriend still hasn't learned to appreciate red lipstick, but he told me to go for it if I want.( Way to go, boyfriend!)

As for the waterliner - FIrst, the reason they name it "waterliner" instead of eyeliner is because this is intended to be put on the waterline, which means that it's creamy and it won't smudge. I like how it's easy to apply, smooth and creamy and I also like how the rose gold makes my eyes look brighter, but as for the budge-proof claim, I need to try the darker shades first.

Great cover-up concealer. It's great alright. It's creamy and it stays put, which I really appreciate. The only complain I have is how little of a product you get for the price you pay. Other than that, I think it's an awesome product.

As for the eyeshadows, I don't really have anything to say. They're good, but they don't really stand out. I do
like the concept of the Life Palette where you can transfer the pans to smaller palette. It's really convenient, but for the high price tag of $75, I say wait for a deal which they're currently offering 30% off for Ipsy members with code:IPSY.

Have you tried EM products? What do you think?
