5 Favorite Bright Summer Lipsticks

Bright lipsticks are kinda my thing right now, especially with the hot summer days. Bright colors tend be very high maintenance since they are very noticeable if they ever leave a spot on teeth or run outside the lip line. I always use a lip balm as some sort of a lip primer before applying any kind of lipstick. Not only it provides a smoother canvas, it also enables the color to stay on vibrant longer. I'm sure there are so many products out there designed specifically for lip primer, but I've been using
Vaseline Lip Therapy as my lipstick base.

Here are five of my favorites bright lipsticks. I just realized a couple of them look very similar, but yet create different look.

This is the most wearable among the bunch. Some people might not even consider this to be a typical bright bold lipstick, but it still is for me. I wear a lot of neutral shades, so this peachy orange-y color is a little bit outside of my comfort zone. Revlon lip butter formula is not very opaque, but that's what I like about it. It's more of a sheer lipstick, but I can build up the intensity as I apply more. I love Revlon lip butters, the color selection is just so so pretty! I posted my collection here.

It's not easy to find link for this exact shade. I got mine at Target a while ago. Maybe the shade is being discontinued. If that's the case, it's such a shame. I featured this on an LOTD post. The color on the tube is deceiving because it looks like a dark plum purple, but when I swatched it, it gives more of a berry than plum shade. I really love the formula, too. It smoothes out my lips, and it doesn't feather. It stays put, too!

As you can see the side-by-side comparison, it looks very similar with the Plum prospect. This one is slightly more purple and has a cooler undertone. I don't wear it as often as I would've liked. I'm really liking the shade and how moisturizing the lipstick is despite of the shimmery finish and glitter that can be seen from the tube. But it doesn't feel chunky or anything. I'm really impressed.

Of course, you guys have known already by now. I dedicated a whole blog post just to picture this beauty. If I had to choose one signature shade, this might be it. It's bright; it's bold, it's pink! It is the creme formula, and it's just so so smooth! This is not drying by any means, and it stays put throughout the day. I've used it all day when I went to the beach on last memorial weekend. I really love the formula, and I can't wait to try on more shades from the line!

Okay, maybe this more of a tinted lipbalm than it is a lipstick. For me the Baby lips just don't perform that well to be called a lip balm. I find that anything tinted is just not as good of a moisturizing product as of a regular one. But of a lip color, it's great. I gives a hint color without being in your face. It's not drying, but it's not moisturizing either. But what I really like about it is how easy it is to apply. It is sheer, but it's just perfect to give me that effortless pretty lip color.

Any shade I need to try? Let me know!
